Everyone has hard times.  If you have not, just wait, it is coming.  It happens to all types of people.  No one is exempt from hard times.  The key to surviving a stressful situation is the peace of God.  So how do we find that peace? Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”  You must meet the conditions which are don’t be anxious, but through prayers and supplications let your concerns be made known to God, in order to receive the promise.  The promise, of course, is the peace of God that guards your heart and mind.  The believer is guarded by the peace of God as he commits his concerns to Him.

My challenge to you is to not be afraid to tell God your deepest needs and concerns. The Bible encourages you to do just that.  When you pour your heart out to Him, holding nothing back, His promise is activated in your life and situation.  And remember that anxiety and prayer are more opposed to each other than fire and water.  Therefore, when you go into your secret place, don’t be anxious, pray without ceasing and God’s peace will protect you.
